Sparking the Conversations Others Dare Not!

Samantha does not deliver safe keynotes. She delivers the ones audiences remember six months later.

With over two decades at the coal face of digital compliance, privacy, and AI governance, her keynotes are grounded in what actually happens inside organisations. She connects digital risk to commercial reality, regulatory pressure to boardroom decisions, and global policy shifts to the people they affect most.

Audiences leave equipped, not just inspired.

2026 Keynotes

* Note that any of these keynotes can be tailored to meet the needs of the event and its audience.

  • AI is no longer confined to research labs or back-office functions. It is now central to business strategy, driving customer engagement, operational efficiency, and competitive differentiation. As AI moves into the mainstream, its governance can no longer be treated as a technical or compliance issue. It is a leadership issue that belongs in the C-suite. Boards and executives must treat AI governance as strategically important as financial oversight, brand reputation, and cybersecurity.

The audience will see why AI governance is a board-level responsibility, not a legal afterthought. They will understand the concrete steps executives can take to integrate governance into strategy, build digital trust, and position themselves as leaders in the next wave of AI innovation.

  • Elevating Data Privacy Leadership in the Caribbean

Data privacy and protection remain in the early stages of implementation across the Caribbean. Personal data is one of the most valuable business assets of our time, and its management requires accountability at the highest levels.

Too often, those tasked with safeguarding this data are under resourced, undertrained, and unprepared for the scale and complexity of the responsibility.

This keynote explores why data privacy must be treated as a strategic priority in the boardroom and how Caribbean professionals can lead with confidence, competence, and a clear understanding of their critical role in shaping the region’s digital future.

Learn established tips and tricks to implement and operationalise effective and strategic data privacy programs that support the board.

  • The Caribbean has long consumed digital technologies designed elsewhere, governed by rules built for other realities. This keynote argues for a different posture: from passive consumer to active architect of the region's digital future. As the Fifth Industrial Revolution unfolds, the Caribbean has a narrow window to govern artificial intelligence on its own terms, through a unified model built on five pillars, from culturally grounded ethics to data sovereignty. The proof is already here. Since this keynote was first delivered, the Government of Jamaica has moved to embrace the data embassy model at its heart.

Why governance is not a brake on innovation but the foundation for it, and how digital sovereignty becomes real capability, protecting climate resilience, tourism, cultural heritage, and sustainable development across the region.

  • Healthcare is one of the sectors most rapidly transformed by artificial intelligence. From diagnostics to drug discovery, the promises are immense. Yet, beneath these promises lie risks that are both technical and deeply human. AI systems trained on biased data have already produced inequitable outcomes, disproportionately harming Black, Indigenous, and marginalized communities. The time has come to rethink how we govern healthcare algorithms so that they heal rather than harm.

The Audience will understand the urgent risks of unregulated healthcare algorithms and why governance is not an obstacle but an enabler of innovation. They will leave with a clearer vision of what transparent, equitable healthcare AI could look like and how business leaders and policymakers can support its development.

  • Can Your Profession Be a Force for Good?

Many people wonder how they can use their profession to make a meaningful difference in the world.

In this candid and inspiring keynote, Samantha shares how she has aligned her personal values with her professional journey. Through real-life stories and practical insights, she explores how purpose and profession can work together to drive lasting impact.

    Her journey includes:

    • Bringing data privacy expertise to the Caribbean and developing future Caribbean privacy leaders

    • Working to eliminate algorithmic racial bias

    • Supporting Black-led tech companies and global tech firms committed to social impact

    • Creating digital compliance frameworks that identify and challenge bias and discrimination

This keynote challenges professionals to think beyond business as usual and lead with clarity, courage, and conviction.

  • Blaxit: Reclaiming Home, Reimagining Life

Blaxit is the growing movement of Black communities in the West returning to Africa and the Caribbean in search of a more fulfilling and easeful life. It is more than relocation. It is a conscious act of reclaiming identity, dignity, and purpose. While many dream of making the leap, only a few take the plunge.

Inspired by the vision of Marcus Garvey, who called on us to be masters of our own destiny, this keynote explores what it truly means to return home with intention and direction.

Samantha Simms shares her personal journey of relocating to Jamaica. She offers an honest account of the decisions, challenges, and life-changing rewards that came with starting fresh. Beginning again can be daunting. From deciding where to live and building a new network to setting up a home and adjusting to a different pace, Samantha offers practical insights and reflections from the other side of the leap.

Whether you are preparing to make a move or are simply curious about the Blaxit experience, this session will inform, inspire, and empower you to explore your options with clarity and confidence. It is a call to reconnect with your roots and reimagine a life that feels like home, both personally and professionally.
